A fundamental strength of RTI is the power and flexibility of its monitoring and
collection mechanism at many levels. By default RTI works out-of-the-box to monitor
performance of standard points within a J2EE or JEE application Framework –
Servlets, EJBs, Hibernate, JDBC, JMS, and many more. In some scenarios users may
choose to modify the coverage of RTI to either optimize data collection, or target
custom code that is not monitored by default out of the box.
Customization starts by choosing Edit Configuration from the
context menu of an RTI Collector shown in the Collectors view on the left of the RTI
Console:

This opens a new view tab showing the RTI Configuration editor, showing the Event
editor.
