To view the application transaction profile you must first exercise your application to produce some performance data.  Then you should:
  1. click the Profile a JBoss or Tomcat Application link in the Welcome page
  2. select the collector associated with your application gear
  3. click OK
The profile data should be downloaded from your gear and displayed in the Profile view.  If you get a message about "no profile data" being available, it usually means you have not exercise your application since restart. See the user's guide for more details on profile information.

To view application deep-dive trace data you need to start a deep-dive trace, exercise your application, and download the collected  trace data.
To start a deep-dive trace you should:
  1. click the Deep-Dive into Transaction Performance link in the Welcome page
  2. select the collector associated with your application gear
  3. click OK
  4. select the collector in the Available Transactions list (usually selected by default)
  5. set the filter option Ignore methods less than (try Trace all methods at first)
  6. set the duration of the trace (try a few minutes at first)
  7. click Start Trace
  8. dismiss the warning

Once the RTI console indicates the trace has been started, you should exercise (or continue exercising) your application to generate trace data.   When the trace period is over (as soon as you want) download the trace data by:
  1. click Next
  2. select the collector associated with your application gear
  3. set the time range (try last 5 minutes at first)
  4. set the filter option Ignore methods less than (try Trace all methods at first)
  5. click Finish
The deep-dive trace data will be downloaded to the RTI console where it will be correlated and displayed in the Deep-Dive editor. See the user's guide for more details on deep-dive tracing.
