In addition to the tabular data described above, useful metrics are charted in the profiling view:
The RTI console will automatically provide two charts:
  • Collector Resource Metric View displaying performance measurements recorded for the application itself by its RTI Collector, and
  • Platform Resource Metric View displaying performance metrics for the platform (server) on which the application is running, as recorded by RTI or the JBoss ON agent.
By default, RTI plots the following measurements for the Collector view on the left:
  • Total Transactions per Minute – Total transactions per minute for the profiled application. This measurement represents the application throughput as measured by RTI.
  • Average Response Time (ms) – The average response time of all transactions in the application.
and the following measurements for the Platform view on the right:
  • When connected directly, RTI-collected JMX platform metrics are shown, including:
    • SystemLoadAverage (%) – Average percent CPU utilization by monitored processes
    • ThreadCount – Number of threads executing in monitored processes.
    • OpenFileCount – Number of files open in monitored processes.
  • When connected to JBoss Operations Network:
    • System Load (%) – Percent CPU utilization spent executing System calls.
    • User Load (%) – Percent CPU utilization spent executing User calls.
