For example, the steps to upgrade RTI Enterprise on Linux might be:
# define the RTI environment to be upgraded
. /opt/ocsystems/rti/ee64/setup

# stop your running jboss service
service jboss stop

# perform the installation, answering 'yes' to Replace:
sh rti-enterprise-3.4.7-lx86-*.sh

# restart JBoss, using the upgraded RTI
service jboss start
On Windows it's even easier, since the installation information is saved in the registry. Just stop your instrumented Java applications and then install as usual, accepting the suggested installation location.

If you don't want to upgrade in place there are other alternatives but it can be tricky, so we suggest you contact RTI support.
